It’s the time of year when many of us are getting out the shorts, sleeveless tops and sandals, wishing our skin were ready for public viewing. But with a little effort, you can look your best again – just in time for summer.
Here are a few simple ways to get started:
If you’ve read some of our posts on Facebook or our e-report, The Secret to Beautiful Skin, you have heard us talk about the benefits of dry brushing. Use a natural bristle brush (search for “dry skin brush” online to purchase) to brush the surface of the skin toward the heart with firm, sweeping strokes. Start with bottom of the feet and work your way up to your arms and spine. This stimulates the lymphatic system, keeps skin clear and invigorates your elimination of waste.
As an alternative – or complement to dry brushing – you can make your own exfoliating skin scrub from natural ingredients you have in your home. Make your own sugar-oatmeal scrub for just pennies and add some essential oils if you’d like. For sensitive skin, stay away from fragrant oils and use only soothing, anti-inflammatory oils, including chamomile or aloe. Essential oils such as rosemary and clary sage are good wrinkle reducers, as they are high in anti-oxidants, notes Mother Nature Network.
When you’re just out of the shower, apply an oil such as Aura Glow (sold online at Amazon.com or through other retailers). Don’t worry about feeling greasy – your skin will quickly absorb the oil. And while you’re in the shower, make sure you’re not drying out your skin with water that’s too hot.
If that’s just not for you, use a good-quality moisturizer. Of course, we recommend our Secret Glow All Day Moisturizing Crème. Nourish skin back to good health with shea butter and all-natural antioxidants derived from tropical acai, goji, pomegranate, noni and mangosteen berries.
