Ingredient spotlight: Tea tree oil

On its own, tea tree oil is a natural analgesic that can penetrate the layers of the skin, helping to soothe discomfort while healing infections, cuts, scraps, burns and insect bites.

Also known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties, tea tree oil is a useful ingredient for treating skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, athlete’s foot and dandruff. It can even destroy head lice.BodyVerde Naturals skin care and beauty products tea tree oil Fresh Skin Rx

The oil comes from the Australian paperbark tree, and it became popular in the 1920s when members of the Australian military reported using it for therapeutic purposes. Before then, indigenous people had long used crushed tea tree leaves to treat many conditions.

For BodyVerde, tea tree oil is a key ingredient in Fresh Skin Rx.

The company’s first product, Fresh Skin Rx was created as a natural alternative to steroid cream to treat eczema.

Customers soon found that the moisturizing cream – which also contains aloe vera, green tea extract, Vitamin E, cocoa butter and shea butter – not only virtually eliminated the itchy, scaly redness of eczema, but also relieved chapped skin, sunburns and rashes; took the sting out of mosquito bites; and treated fungal infections.

Fresh Skin Rx remains a best-seller today. As one customer wrote, “I've been a chronic eczema sufferer my entire life. I haven't been able to use most creams or lotions because of adverse reactions. Fresh Skin Rx is the first product that I've seen positive results from.”

Speaking of seeing results, it’s truly the before and after pictures that we receive that speak for themselves! Keep the multipurpose magic of tea tree oil on hand – you’ll never know when you’ll need its natural healing superpowers.
